2 Weeks To Go

OK now’s the time to P-A-N-I-C! If you’ve not done your packing by now you’re never going to do it. Aren’t I mean? Of course you’ve still got time to pack and sort out most items. You should definitely have a moving date by now and so you can look at contacting the post office to redirect your post.  I would now book time off work, most places require a weeks notice to take one day off so I’d do that now and make sure no one else has got it. If you let work know why you need the day off they can usually be flexible if it changes from one week to another.

1 Week To Go

Now you can stop being in limbo, you can pack nearly everything, you can plan what clothes you’re going to wear for the week, what you’re going to eat and pack the rest. I read in lots of places that you should have been running down your tin cupboards and living off your freezer. Well I wouldn’t bother, it’s only an extra one or two boxes and it saves you doing a massive shop straight after you’ve moved. Trust me the last thing you’ve got time for in a new house is a big shop.

On The Day

Meter readings – take them, give them to your providers and then CHECK THEM on the bill. I can’t emphasise that enough, don’t rely on what they bill you. We were nearly charged A LOT more because the utility company claimed to have checked the meter the same day. Strange how quickly they agreed our reading was correct.

Thank you to Betsssssy for the photo.
